This Privacy Policy explains how Leafy ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, stores, and protects personal data when you use the Leafy mobile application.

2. Age Restriction
Leafy is intended only for users who are at least 18 years old. We do not allow children to create or use accounts.
3. Data We Collect
We collect the following account data:
- Required: username, email, and password.
- Optional: location, gardening experience level, pet ownership, indoor climate details, and primary sunlight direction.
We do not collect KYC identity documents.
4. Mobile device permissions
The Leafy app may request certain permissions on your phone. We use them only as described below. You can review or change permissions in your device settings; disabling a permission may limit related features.
- Camera: used so you can take photos of plants and related subjects and attach them in the app. We may store uploaded images securely on our servers and in our database as part of providing the service (for example, identification, care history, or AI-assisted features).
- Storage (photos / media library): used so you can choose existing pictures from your device and upload them. Uploaded images are handled and stored securely on our systems as described above.
- Camera (AI video call): when you use video call features with the AI assistant, the camera (and microphone, where applicable) enables the live session. We do not retain or store recordings of these video calls for that feature.
- Notifications: used to send you reminders and alerts about plant care actions, schedules, and related gardening tasks. You can turn off notifications in your device or in-app settings where available.
- Internet (network access): required for the app to sync data, use online and AI features, fetch updates, and deliver content that depends on a network connection.
5. How We Use Data
- To create and manage your account.
- To provide app features such as AI assistance, plant care recommendations, and calendar generation.
- To communicate product updates and service notices.
- To send marketing communications by email.
6. AI Processing and Third Parties
To provide AI-powered features, relevant prompts and related contextual data may be transferred to Google Gemini AI. We do not sell or share your personal data with third-party companies for their independent marketing.
7. Payments and Sensitive Information
We do not collect or share financial or health data ourselves, except when this is required by third-party services such as Google Play payment systems for subscriptions.
8. Storage and Security
Required and optional profile fields, and user-uploaded media such as photos when you choose to provide them, are stored securely in our systems and databases with access controls and technical safeguards designed to protect user data.
9. Account Deletion and Data Removal
You can delete your account directly in the app via the Profile tab. After account deletion, associated personal data is removed from our active database and storage.
10. Your Choices
Optional profile fields are voluntary. You can choose whether to provide them, but some advanced features may not function fully without this data. Device permissions such as camera, storage, notifications, and network access can be adjusted in your system settings, subject to platform limitations.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material updates will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
